Evelyn Maultsby

A seasoned HR Professional & Career Coach, Evelyn has been recognized for her ability to bring laser-sharp focus in helping others successfully start, build and manage their careers. 

With over 20+ years’ experience in corporate America, Evelyn Bynum’s professional career has spanned working inside Fortune 500 companies, top 20 university graduate programs, the government sector, and not-for-profit organizations.

She has a strong background in general human resources management including facilitation, organizational development, and leadership/management programming.  Each experience having built upon the next, she developed a passion for human capital management with a focus on career coaching and leadership development.

Currently, Evelyn consults with private, individual clients and organizations via her career coaching practice, The Maultsby Way.  She provides virtual and in-person career coaching services including resume building, career transition counseling and professional development planning.

Prior to starting her own practice, Evelyn worked at PNC Financial Services Group as vice president of Talent Management & Leadership Development.  In this capacity, she partnered with business heads to identify, cultivate and develop the next generation of the bank’s leaders.  Before that, she was the Associate Director of the Career Opportunities Center at Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper Graduate School of Business as well as a Coaching Consultant at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Business in Chicago.  In both roles, she individually coached, mentored and supported MBA candidates and alumni during their career continuum.

Prior to her time in the academic world, Evelyn served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for The Chicago Housing Authority.  During her tenure at the agency, she helped manage a $1.5B transformative plan to re-make public housing in the city of Chicago.  Finally, she worked in human resources manager roles for General Electric – Financial Services, CNA Insurance and the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago.

Committed to community service, Evelyn gives freely of her time to organizations focused on children.  Currently she serves on the board of the Latino Student Fund in Washington, DC.  Also, after serving in several executive board positions for her local chapter of Jack & Jill of America, Inc, she now gives back as a member of their regional strategic planning committee.  Lastly, during her time in Chicago, she served on the board of The Youth Service Project.

Evelyn graduated with honors from Loyola University receiving a Master’s of Science in Human Resources and prior to that, graduated magna cum laude from Howard University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications.  She lives in the Springfield, VA with her husband and two children.
